Aluminum Nitride (AlN) is a high-performance ceramic known for its excellent thermal conductivity, electrical insulation, mechanical strength, and chemical stability, making it ideal for applications in microelectronics and high-power electronics, with Valley Design offering AlN substrates and wafers featuring thermal conductivities of 175 to 200 W/mK.
AIN is a compound of aluminum and nitrogen. It is a high-performance ceramic material. It is known for its superior thermal conductivity, electrical insulation, and mechanical strength. Its efficient thermal conductivity allows it to transfer heat quickly and effectively. AIN is an excellent electrical insulator, preventing electrical current from flowing through the material despite its high thermal conductivity. It is resistant to thermal shock and demonstrates good mechanical strength. Additionally, it is chemically stable in inert atmospheres and in the presence of some acids and bases.
Due to these unique properties, AIN is the preferred choice for microelectronics, high-power electronics, laser components, insulators, heat sinks and other applications.
