Polished Borofloat Wafers and Substrates
Borosilicate glass also known as Schott Borofloat glass, is a Pyrex equivalent glass which can be supplied with as-drawn transparent finishes of 60/40 - 80/50 scratch/dig, or custom polished to 10/5 scratch/dig.

Borofloat wafers and substrates, with surface finishes available in the low Angstroms are routinely polished in sizes up to 300mm (12″) and as thin as 25um.

Borofloat glass outstanding properties include:

  • harmless to both humans and environment
  • recyclable
  • high thermal resistance
  • high chemical resistance
  • excellent transparency

Borofloat standard wafer sizes are:

Diameter: 2″, 3″, 100mm, 150mm, 200mm and 300mm
Typical thicknesses as drawn: 0.7mm, 1.1 mm, 1.75mm, 2.25 and up to 13mm
Typical thickness Polished: .001″ – .005″, .080″, .010″, .015″, .020″
Squares and rectangles: All sizes and thicknesses
